Cuba Lake Emergency Order: Travel ban on the lake in effect

Share:

Cleanup work underway, ban includes all watercraft

From Cuba Chief of Police Dustin Burch,

Town officials are still collaborating with the Cuba Lake District, Allegany County officials, New York State officials, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, among other entities, to clean debris from the lake. While some progress has been made, there is still more work to be done. Consequently, the five-day ban on all watercraft on Cuba Lake has been extended. Please see the attached new order for details. Only those designated to assist with debris removal should be on the water during the ban. We kindly request everyone’s understanding during this time and refrain from interfering with the cleanup efforts by entering the water. We will keep everyone updated as the process progresses. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
