Recently, the Dawgs travel softball team accomplished quite a unique feat in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Not only did they win one 18u Open National Qualifier, they won TWO National Qualifiers in a span of less than 24 hours. The Dawgs began tournament play at 6:30pm Saturday night and recorded the final out a little bit after 1:00am Sunday morning. In doing so, the Dawgs, comprised of mostly 16-year-old players, defeated the Nor-Gwyn Enforcers 8-1, PA Lady Steel 9-6 and 5-0, and Fillies Fastpitch 7-0.

Players and coaches returned to the hotel at approximately 2:00am and had to return to the dome for a 7:00am game in another qualifier tournament. Working on minimal sleep, the Dawgs defeated the Montgomery Devils 1-0 and 8-3, USSSA Pride Showcase team 3-0.

Due to a lack of available slots in 16u qualifiers, the Dawgs needed to enter the 18u age bracket with only one 18u player on the roster. Overall, the Dawgs went 7-1 in route to their 18u National Qualifier automatic berths. Currently, the Dawgs have a USSSA 16u B power ranking that is #2 in New York State and will be competing in the 16u Nationals in late July 28th to August 2nd in Ocean City Maryland.
