Featuring Retired US Coast Guard and Air Force musicians at 8pm at Hornell High School
From HAWE,
On Saturday, May 24th the Hornell Area Wind Ensemble will be once again performing at the Hornell High School Auditorium. This is their annual Memorial Day Concert. Military veterans and their families are invited and urged to attend as they will be honored with music!
As a special bonus each year for this concert, the Wind Ensemble brings in retired military conductors and musicians. This year retired Coast Guard CW04, Dr. Richard E. Wyman, will be conducting the ensemble with nine favorite pieces including music from John Williams, John Philip Sousa, George Gershwin, and more! Dr. Wyman is the former Assistant Director of the United States Coast Guard Band where he conducted regularly throughout the United States and abroad. He remains musically active and is currently the Executive Director of the Community Music School in Centerbrook, CT and Music Director of the MetWinds (Metropolitan Wind Symphony) of Boston.

Accompanying Dr. Wyman this year will be retired Air Force Master Seargent Jeremy Koch. Mr. Koch will be melodiously entertaining us on his saxophone. He is a chamber musician, educator, and arts administrator in Washington, D.C. During his military career playing with the US Air Force Band, he performed for numerous Heads of State, senior government officials, including the last five U.S. Presidents!
Come join your Hornell Area Wind Ensemble. Make sure to invite the veterans in your family as well as your neighbors and all those who appreciate a fine evening of patriotic and melodious music!
Again, that’s at 8 PM at the Hornell High School Auditorium in Hornell, NY!
