State Police Public Information Officer James O’Callaghan confirmed to the Wellsville Sun two New York State Police troopers were who injured during an alleged shooting in Bolivar are being treated at UR Medical Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
O’Callaghan said the two troopers have, “Serious, but non life-threatening injuries.”
Around 3 p.m., there was a report of a stolen vehicle and Wellsville Regional News reported the woman tried to steal a second vehicle and an incident took place on Plum Street.
A Bolivar resident at the scene told the Wellsville Sun the woman allegedly worked at the Crosby’s in Bolivar for about a month.
According to dispatchers who were alerting emergency personnel, one trooper was shot and a second had facial injuries. The facial injury took place as the woman fought with troopers and customers of the store trying to restrain her.

The woman is in custody and was taken to Olean General Hospital in Olean.
The trooper who was shot was allegedly taken in a trooper patrol vehicle and Medical Transport Services (MTS) met the vehicle and took over treatment to the hospital.
The intersection in Wellsville leading to the back of the hospital on the Genesee Parkway was closed for traffic to allow the vehicle to get to the hospital on Main Street in the quickest time possible.
