Canisteo cider mill fill host weekend of history re-lived
From the 21st Georgia Reenactment Infantry,
Canisteo, NY – History comes to life once again as the annual Battle of Lain’s Mill Civil War Reenactment returns to Lain’s Cider Mill on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th, located at 6252 Lain Road, Canisteo, NY 14823.
For over 20 years, this immersive event has been proudly hosted by the Lain Family and the 21st Georgia Reenactment Infantry, offering a whole weekend of living history. Guests can expect:
• Authentic battle reenactments each day beginning at 1:00 PM
• Educational talks and demonstrations throughout the day
• Historic Sutler’s Row featuring period-style vendors
• A lunch counter offering food and refreshments
• Open camp access – visitors are welcome to walk through the encampments and talk with reenactors.



This family-friendly event is a unique opportunity to connect with America’s past and experience the sights, sounds, and stories of the Civil War era.
Gates open at 9:00 am, Admission is free, and all are welcome. Don’t miss your chance to witness history in action at one of the region’s longest-running Civil War reenactments.
