The Wellsville YMCA’s 5th Annual Color Run & Family Walk returns to Island Park on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, with the race kicking off at 10:00 am. This lively event combines fitness and fun in a 5K run or a relaxed 2-mile walk, designed for participants of all ages and activity levels. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just in it for the color-filled good time, there’s something for everyone. It’s more than just a race, it’s a celebration of wellness, community spirit, and the joy of movement—perfect for families, friends, and anyone looking to add a little color to their spring season! Early Bird Registration Pricing is $30 per person, which includes a FREE event t-shirt if registered by April 20th.  Children 12 years old and younger are FREE.  Registration after April 20th will be $35 per person and will not include a t-shirt.

After completing the run/walk, join us for Healthy Kids Day® from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, also at Island Park! Healthy Kids Day® is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. For over 30 years, YMCAs and their communities have hosted FREE community events aimed at inspiring kids and families to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months and beyond.

The event will host many local vendors including Amity Rescue Squad, Catholic Charities, David A. Howe Library, Directions in Independent Living, Inc., KumEssa, PPAC, She Brews, Simply Syrup Maple Products, Smokey the Bear, Southern Tier Child Advocacy Center, The Rabbit Hole, UR Growing Resilience Action Board, and Wellsville ACCORD Head Start.

From interactive games to nutritious snacks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.  So, grab your family & friends, lace up your running (or walking) shoes, and join us for a day of fun, laughter, learning, and healthy living.

“2025 marks our half-decade Color Run and Healthy Kids Day. It’s been five years of learning, planning, and growth for this event.” states Tyler Green, Wellsville YMCA Associate Executive.  “As I reflect over the past five years I find myself eternally grateful for everyone that has helped bring a vision into reality. It’s incredible to think of what this event could look like another five years from now. It’s not perfect, we have a lot of work to do, but what’s a color run without a little chaos! I can’t wait to see all of our vendors, families, runners, and everyone in between on May 10th.”

YMCA Members and Non-Members can register for the color run/walk by calling 585-593-3246, in-person at the Wellsville YMCA or online at:   https://www.twintiersymca.org/WellsvilleColorRun.aspx  There is no registration for Healthy Kids Day®.  Interested in sponsoring this event or participating as a vendor?  Contact Tyler Green at 585-593-3246 x102 or tylerg@twintiersymca.org.
