WELLSVILLE – The work of local photographer Melanie Hunt will be featured at 6 p.m., April 16th in the Gallery at the David A. Howe Library when the Thelma Rogers Genealogical and Historical Society (TRGHS) presents, “While Walking Around Wellsville” with the artist.

The public is invited free of charge to attend this photographic journey with Hunt as she features various locations around the Village which have been the focus of her extremely popular photographs.

The Wellsville Sun’s first feature photo ever!

Hunt, a 1995 graduate of Wellsville High School and an Air Force veteran, honed her photographic skills while walking along the streets of the village and hiking along The WAG Trail. Her journey began in 2017 with simple cell phone photos after she became enamored with the beauty she found on the trail and on Main Street during her early morning walks. It got serious a year later when she started using a professional digital single lens reflex camera.

Her photographs highlighting the village streets and buildings and the abundant wildlife shots from along the WAG Trail have delighted the public. They can often be seen not only on the banner of the Sun News blog, but also on Facebook. Hunt’s photographs can be seen at Mel Hunt Photos on Facebook.

Wednesday’s program is free and open to the public and the TRGHS encourages the public to come out and enjoy the conversation with and the photographic experiences of this local woman.
