Belmont, NY –  The Allegany County Democrats collected nearly 30 bags of non-perishable food and personal care items when they met recently in Almond. The goods were donated to the food pantry operated by the Almond Community Church. This service project is one of the ways the Democratic Committee lives its motto: “Serving our Community”.

According to volunteer Barb Welch, the pantry is open on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Under the guidance of pantry director Teal Hardy, 58 families were served last month and that number is steadily increasing. Those needing assistance can call  (607) 276-6151 for more information.

The Almond Community Church Pantry is located at 11 Main St., Almond and accepts donations of non-perishable food during pantry hours.

Please join the county Democrats on Saturday, April 12 in Belmont for coffee and to support the community’s local food pantry.  Contact us for details at info@alleganycountydemocrats.org, or 585-610-4321 or on Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/alleganycodems ) or Threads  (  https://www.threads.net/@allegany_ny_dems  )

Mystery Wine Pull and Team Trivia Event in Angelica

Belmont, NY…..      The Allegany County Democratic Committee will host a Mystery Wine Pull & Trivia Event on Saturday, March 29 at 22 W. Main St., Angelica, NY.   This is a drop-in event, open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Everyone aged 21 or above is welcome.  You need not be a registered Democrat to attend.

Team Trivia begins at 1:30 p.m. with a suggested donation of $3 per person per game.  Guests can enjoy snacks and soft drinks, and there are prizes for the winners of each of five rounds.

Every Wine Pull ticket is a WINNER!  Presale tickets for the wine pull are available from any committee member. Bottles retail up to $30 and many have quality ratings in the 90s and above.  Tickets are $20 for adults 21 and over.   A small number of tickets will be available at the door.  To learn more and purchase tickets (or make a donation) on-line, visit our FB page (Allegany County Democratic Committee) or follow this link:  https://secure.actblue.com/donate/wineandtrivia

According to event organizer Karen Patterson, “We’ve acquired a mouthwatering selection of crisp whites, delicate pinks, and big, juicy reds – both sparkling and still — from vintners as near as California and as exotic as France, Portugal, Italy and Argentina. You might pull a varietal (Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) or you may pull an effervescent prosecco, a sweet white blend or a refreshing red table wine.”

If you can’t make it to Angelica on that day, contact us for alternate arrangements to pick out your mystery bottle. For more information, call 585-610-4321 or email info@acdcny.org
