On Dec. 17, Village of Wellsville Police Officer Ryan Dibble was patrolling overnight when he noticed deer crossing the road.
So he pulled over, rolled down his passenger side window and held out his phone showing Josh Allen highlights from the Buffalo Bills’ 48-42 win over the Detroit Lions.
Jim Nantz announces on the highlight film Dibble was showing the deer, “(pass caught by) Ty Johnson and the Bills pick up a big gain of 33 yards.” Then the video starts showing another Josh Allen highlight.
The deer stopped in their tracks.
“There were 90 deer throughout the village. So I told (his partner on patrol that night) Lewis Pettit, ‘Pull out some Josh Allen highlight videos!” I taped him showing the deer. We went to dinner, posted it and after our shift, the video had 6,000 views between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.!” Dibble said. “Then it was at 80,000 and finally I had to turn off my notifications so I could sleep!”
If you have social media, here are high-quality videos from the Bills’ video on FACEBOOK, on INSTAGRAM and on TIKTOK
The Buffalo Bills posted this today (story continues after video):
Dibble captioned the video “Showing the deer Josh Allen highlights” and between Instagram and TikTok it has 1.5 million views.
Josh Allen, the Bills’ quarterback, found out today he is a finalist for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, the biggest award of the year after winning the Super Bowl.
The Buffalo Bills arguably have the best social media team in all of sports. And they earned 5.7 million followers because they do fun videos and they feature the fans of the Bills called BillsMafia.

The Bills are preparing to take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Kansas City with the winner going to the Super Bowl.
As Josh Allen was running off the field after practice today, a member of the social media team did their best Lewis Pettit impersonation, holding a cell phone showing deer highlights, complete with narrative. LIke the deer, Josh Allen stopped in his track, and like a Josh in headlights, he watched the highlight.
Ryan posted, “Showing the deer Josh Allen highlights” and over Josh Allen the Bills posted over the video, “Showing Josh Allen deer highlights.”
The Bills posted “Game respects game” (with a deer icon) #deer #joshallen #trend #nfl

Ryan Dibble’s original post (story continues after video)
Just like his original post, Dibble’s phone keeps going off.
“My friends are laughing and saying ‘all that and you are a Chargers fan!’ I said ‘I’m a fan of Josh Allen, too!’ and it’s the truth, he’s such a great player and fun to watch,” said Dibble.
Earlier today, Dibble said, “Chelsey Toney sent me a message on TikTok. I saw the thumbnail of Josh Allen looking at deer and said ‘I did one just like that!’ And then I saw my video and said ‘wait, that’s my video!’ “
Dibble said he’s been trying to make dinner for his kids and his phone was going crazy. I asked him who bugs him the most? There was no deer in the headlights pause as he said, “The Wellsville Sun.”
