Free community dinner followed by a “positive program” at the Hornell Community Arts Center
From event organizers,
In recognition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, a local birthday celebration committee welcomes the public to a free dinner and program around the theme of Food Security and Dignity. Organized by committee members Paul Frazier, Peg Gefell, Marseena Harmonson and Pastor Bruce Incze, the event will take place Monday, January 20 at the Hornell Community Arts Center on the Broadway Mall, beginning at 5 PM.

Following a soup, bread and dessert meal, the program will outline existing positives in the Hornell-Alfred area seeking to address food insecurity and greater access to healthy food. Sharing information will be representatives from Living Acres organic farm, the Hornell Community Garden, Alfred University’s wellness and garden program, and the Hornell Meals Program cooking classes.
In keeping with Dr. King’s vision of thriving communities rooted in justice and equity, a community conversation will explore not only what is currently happening in our area, but enhancing community awareness and involvement.
