Last November we reported on a man attempting to abuse children in the village of Wellsville. 814PredHunters had used a decoy and confronted the man as he believed the potential victims were meeting him. This anti-child abuse work has brought another dangerous predator to light, and into the criminal justice system.

NYS Police arrested Ryan Seeger for Felony Attempt to Disseminate Indecent Material to a Minor and Misdemeanor Acting in a Manner Injurious to a Child under 17.

Pictured is the confrontation with the activist in a Willing NY parking lot, where Seeger admitted to sending “alot” of images and videos to what he thought was a 15 year old female. 814PredHunters, who saved all of the messages, pictures, and videos described:

“Ryan Seeger, 32 from Wellsville NY was talking to who he thought was a 15 year old. Fortunately, he was speaking to one of our decoys and not a real child. The things he said were disgusting!”

Allegany County Undersheriff Walter Mackney confirmed that Seeger was arrested by NYS Police and explains the charges:

“If someone tries to commit a crime but is unsuccessful, it is an “attempt to commit a crime” be it a misdemeanor or felony. It is usually charged as one level lower than the original charge, i.e. a B felony would be a C felony, a C a D, etc.”

Mackney also confirmed that Seeger was arraigned and released for a future court date.

Allegany County District Attorney Ian Jones explained that Seeger can expect an aggressive prosecution and may file additional charges. Jones lamented that under NYS Bail Reform laws, the county was forced to release the admitted criminal predator:

“Unfortunately this was not a “bailable” offense and the accused was released after being arraigned. It is very frustrating to have such a potential danger to the public released. My understanding is that the proper warrants to search his phone and home have been granted so I would not be surprised to see more charges filed in this matter.”

This wasn’t Seeger’s first time being arrested for deviant behavior. In 2009 he and a accomplice were charged with robbing graves in Potter County, Pennsylvania. According to the Potter County Leader Enterprise, Seeger testified against a co-defendant after breaking into the Kibbe family mausoleum and raiding five caskets. Seeger told the court in 2010 that he and the accomplice to the crime broke into the family mausoleum with a screwdriver. The pair then apparently raided the caskets for valuables and desecrated the bodies of the Kibbe family.
