Alfred Art Walk: Thursday, November 21, 5 p.m. All galleries will be open late!

Arts Speaker Series: “Charles Binns, Robert Smithson and Alfred: Exploring Eco-critical ceramic histories and pedagogies in the Anthropocene,” given by International Randall Chair in Art History Dr. Wendy Gers. November 21, at 4:30 p.m. in Binns-Merrill Hall 106

Alfred University Popular Music Ensemble presents its Fall Concert on Thursday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Miller Theater. 

Informal Dance Showing: Thursday, November 21, and Friday, November 22, at 6 p.m. in the CD Smith Blackbox Theater. The Alfred University Interdisciplinary Dance Program is an innovative leader in dance studies that fosters creative research, inquiry and imagination through the art of dance and dance making. Performances feature choreographic works by faculty, students and visiting dance artists, directors, choreographers and producers.

Robert C Turner Gallery:  Show is on display from Nov. 15-26.

UltraViolet: Jodie Mack: on view through December 8, 2024, in Fosdick-Nelson Gallery. Using materials that glow under blacklight, ultraviolet delves into the nuanced relationship of glow-in-the-dark, neon, and fluorescent entities within analog and computational photography, printmaking, and digital imagery. Fusing together printed materials and textiles, ultraviolet brings to the surface many of the complications around original and technological replica.

Poster Archive at the Cohen Gallery. On view through December 8. Celebrating the work of twenty-five graphic design interns who created exhibition graphics for the Fosdick-Nelson and Cohen Galleries from 2001 to 2024. It showcases the legacy of a long-running internship that provides BFA students with valuable experience in a professional design environment on campus, benefiting both the School of Art and Design Galleries and the wider University community

Constructing Radiance: Sculpture by Li Hongwei will be on display at the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum through December 29, 2024.

Departure: Alfred/Düsseldorf MFA in Painting Exhibition at Scholes Library Project Room. On view through December 7, 2024. Featuring work by Justin Donica, Rachel Grant, Ally Harrison, Max Heaton, Erin Keating, Ignacio Luera and Julia Moores.

Open Draw: Brick Residence Hall, basement. Weekly figure drawing session, open to all students and community. Fridays at 5:30 p.m. beginning the second week of classes and during the semester in the Brick Basement.

The Institute for Electronic Arts (IEA) announces an exciting line-up of resident artists in the Fall semester 2024. Jacoub Reyes excavates their individual and ancestral biographies to unearth their cultural heritage in art.
