The Allegany County Board of Elections has been refreshing voter turnout numbers all day and evening.
The first interesting stat is, with one hour left before the polls closed, 65 percent of eligible voters cast a vote early, on Election Day or through a mail-in vote.
Second, almost 12,800 residents of Allegany County voted today while 5,127 took advantage of early voting.
And then there are the political affiliations.
The Republicans who voted for president in Allegany County numbered 7,527 with an hour to go before polls closed, but that is not an indication of who everyone voted for.
Meanwhile, anyone registered as a Democrat, Independent, Conservative or other parties numbered 5,270. Conservative voters usually vote Republican while independent voters and other parties are split.
