Mayor Randy Shayler continues to enjoy a wide margin over challengers
By Andrew Harris
There is just over a week until the debate between the incumbent Republican Mayor Randy Shayler and the only other challenger on the ballot, Independent Marshall Green. Read our debate announcement here for the October 10 event in the Nancy Howe Auditorium at 7pm, free to the public.

After two weeks of polling readers the results remain about the same: Shayler 66%, Green 25%, and 9% supporting write in candidates. Cory McAbier, who has mounted a write-in campaign, is included in this poll but he does not appear on the ballot. Readers have submitted several different names as well, some serious, some just for a smile, see below.
Anyone may vote in this poll that simply reflects our readers opinions, not actual village voter preferences.
Yard sign season is about to begin for this election so expect to see signs for both Green and Shayler popping up in the village. McAbier has already erected signs in some locations but to be honest, the print is so fine that they are impossible to read from a vehicle.
Remember that tampering or moving political yard signs is against the law and enforced by local police.
Here are some of the names that our readers submitted this week:
Buzz Dillie
Scott Wilson
Ray Higby
Steve Pettenati
Dawn Willis
Joe Mama
Jonny Lehman
Patrick Sawyer
Dan Fronszak
Greg McAndrew
This poll is reset every Wednesday afternoon for a new week of voting. Please share with friends to be sure they vote in the next week leading up to the debate.
