Are you interested in serving on the Board of Education?

The Wellsville Central School District Board of Education will meet Tuesday October 1 for a regular meeting. That meeting will be dominated by the news that longtime board member Rex Olsen has submitted a letter of resignation. The board is expected to accept that resignation and move forward in two possible directions.
When a school board member resigns mid-term, the choice is to call for a special election, the board can vote to appoint a new member, or the board can choose to leave the seat vacant until the next election cycle. A recent election indicates a high level of interest in this open seat with a term expiring on June 30, 2025. WIth several board seats expiring next year, a May 2025 election is planned.
Are you interested in serving our public school system? If so, potential candidates should contact the Board of Education sooner than later to the Board Clerk Megan Burdick, mburdick@wlsv.org
The regualr meeting of the school board will begin at 630pm in the Elementary School multipurpose room.
