Allegany and Cattaraugus county families: Resource fair coming to Cuba on September 25

CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION TO HOST OPEN HOUSE RESOURCE FAIR AT THE CUBA LIBRARY

On Wednesday, September 25th from 1-5 pm, Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Cattaraugus and the Cuba Library located at 39 E Main Street, Cuba, NY 14727 will be hosting an Open House Resource Fair. This event, which is intended for homeowners, renters, landlords, senior citizens, families, and small businesses will serve to educate, and assist community members. It is open to all residents of Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties and will be especially beneficial to individuals of low to moderate income. Information will be available on: home repair; affordable housing; childcare; long-term care; Head Start services; Medicaid application assistance; nutrition; healthcare; recreation and retirement; workforce development; and energy efficiency programs for homeowners and renters. 

Representatives from USDA-Rural Development, JCC Workforce Development, Creekside Chapel, Office of Aging for Cattaraugus and Allegany County, ACCORD Corporation, Bishop Sheen Housing, Directions in Independent Living, Northern Energy Services and Training, Fidelis Care, and CCE will be present. 

“We are excited to be able to offer programs and services that are directed to different community needs,” said Emily Edmunds, CCE Sustainability Educator. “This event is aimed at encouraging community engagement, sustainability actions, and addressing local challenges.”
