Appleby to speak on POW’s this Friday, Living History” is Saturday and Sunday

Steve Appleby, Curator Emeritus of the Eldred World War II Museum, slated to speak on World War II Prisoners of War

The Eldred World War II Museum is proud to announce a special presentation by Steve Appleby, Curator Emeritus, on the topic of Prisoners of War during World War II. This insightful event will take place on September 20th at 6:00PM at the museum and is free and open to the public.

The presentation is an opportunity for history enthusiasts, students, and community members to gain a deeper understanding of one of the most poignant aspects of WWII. Following the presentation, there will be a Q & A session where attendees can engage with Museum staff and ask about this critical part of history.

A Living History Event is scheduled at the Eldred WWII Museum featuring several reenactors.   

Eldred, PA – The Eldred WWII Museum will host a Living History Weekend on Saturday September 21st and Sunday September 22nd featuring over a dozen reenactors representing multiple nations and services.

The event will take place throughout the museum and  is free and open to the public.

Reenactors in full period uniforms  will set up displays with authentic artifacts and answer your questions about the war. Both Axis and Allied soldiers will be represented as well as home front individuals.

The Living History Event at the Eldred WWII Museum offers a rare look into the lives of soldiers and civilians on the front line during World War II.
