Wellsville NY based theatre group earns kudos from TANYS

Small town, local theatre is alive and well!! After three days of performances at the Grace United Mission Center in Wellsville, the awards have arrived for the Starlight Theatre group.

The awards by the Theatre Association of NYS are a great indication of how well done this production was. The word on the street today was proof positive that this was a performance to remember. My conversation this morning on Main Street Alfred:

Lisa: Did you see the “Into the Woods” show this weekend by chance ? I hear it was unbelievable and I had no idea about it!!”

Me: I didn’t make it but isn’t it amazing that Wellsville has a theatre group like this ! Small town theatre is such a lost art. Sorry you missed the show, you should read the Wellsville Sun more often !

The Starlight Theatre announced the ten different winners:

Meritorious Achievement in Ensemble Performance to the Cast
Meritorious Achievement in Technical Design and Execution to Jamie O’Kelly, Diane Willard and Angela Tinder

Excellence in Sound Design and Execution to Peter Mangels
Excellence in Musical Performance to Cyril Bodnar and the Orchestra
Excellence in Vocal Direction to Eric Van Druff

Excellence in Vocal Performance to Emma Elliott
Excellence in Vocal Performance to Heidi N. Lawton
Excellence in Vocal Performance to Chiara Iantorno
Excellence in Vocal Performance to Ryan Keib 

Keep track of what the Starlight has coming up by following them on Facebook. These folks have produced lots of great shows and I expect that to continue, luckily for Wellsville!
