New cards will be issued soon
From Allegany County BOE,
Heads up to any one who recently received a card from our office. When doing a mail merge for the file it was sorted incorrectly causing the names & addresses to cross over incorrectly. New cards will be issued to those voters. We apologize for the error. Call the office if we can help.
A voter on social media asked, “So what does this mean?”
The board of elections went on to clarify:
“It means that when doing the files for printing, the file got sorted incorrectly causing the names to attach to the wrong address. Straight human error. The cards that were received will be reissued with the correct information for the voters that were required to receive one due to changes in their record or new registrations. Not all voters were sent a card. The cards that have the wrong name at the wrong address are IN NO WAY registered to vote. It was a mailing list error.”
