The Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated 100 years with a business after hours event, but this celebration was filled with honors and announcements.

Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bruce Thomas announced a chamber-commissioned “Wellsville” mural will be painted on the side of L’Italia at 105 N Main Street.

He said it will “add vibrancy and energy to our community through art.”

A concept drawing was unveiled at the event, and depending on donations, the gigantic mural could have other landmarks added. If you would like to donate to the project, the Wellsville Development Corporation, the Chamber’s affiliated 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, and are tax deductible. Art was the theme of the night. Karen Kania, the administrative assistant at the Chamber, not only set up many parts of the event, but was instrumental in leading a revilitaltion of the Chamber building. The past Great Wellsville Balloon Rally posters now adorn the walls and a few of the past Wellsville Music Festival posters as well.
