Sompie comes to Hougton after almost two decades of teaching in Indonesia

Houghton, [July 2024]— Dr. Toby A. Travis, Head of School at Houghton Academy, is pleased to announce the addition of René Mario Unsratrianto Sompie to our distinguished faculty. With an impressive 17-year career in education, René brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our community, particularly in the fields of Biblical Studies and Christian education.
René joins us from Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan (Light and Hope Foundation, Indonesia) and Sekolah Pelita Harapan LV (SPH LV, Indonesia), a renowned K-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) School, where he served as a Bible Teacher and Biblical Studies Subject Lead Teacher. His tenure at SPH LV includes a variety of roles that demonstrate his deep commitment to educational excellence and Christian values.
