Ahead of schedule, the Jones Memorial Hospital neurology, rheumatology and infusion center in the Hornell Medical Office building at 7309 Seneca Rd. N, Suite 116 is open for patients. The new state clinic offers office visits for neurology and rheumatology, as well as infusions for these patients and general infusions, with a large state of the art infusion suite including 6 infusion chairs, nutrition center, social worker and on site providers. The $1.5 million project was completed through a partnership with JMH and the University of Rochester Medical Center. The clinic also welcomes two new providers to the region – Dr. Carlos Sollero of the Neurology Department and Dr. Vanessa Browne of the Rheumatology Department. They will join the existing rheumatology team, including Dr. James VanDeWall and David Roae, NP, at the location.

The team is excited to re-introduce neurology to the region with the addition of Dr. Sollero, who completed his training at URMC and has worked closely with the UR Medicine Neuroimmunology clinicians. While providing general neurology services, his clinical interests include Multiple Sclerosis, demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders, autoimmune encephalitides and neurosaroidosis. Dr. Sollero will begin seeing patients this week.

The medical staff will be supervising the infusion center and will be on-site as infusions are completed.

Brenda Mong-Szabo, VP of Specialty Services stated, “We’re excited to bring these services to our region. This new location offers patients in the Southern Tier access to quality clinical and infusion care, close to home. It’s part of our mission and we are proud to partner with UR Medicine to deliver superior healthcare to our community.”

Patients interested in transferring care to the new Hornell location can send a message to their neurologist or rheumatologist through MyChart or speak to their specialists about transferring their infusion to Hornell at their next appointment. Provider referrals may call (607) 454-4400.
