John C. Hinkle, Jr., 76, Cuba

John C. HINKLE, Jr., 76, of Cuba, NY, formerly of Scio, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Williamsville.  Born June 20, 1948, in Wellsville, he was the son of John C. and Ella F. Antes Hinkle.  A graduate of Scio Central School, he was employed by Dresser Rand in Wellsville for many years and was also self-employed, owning Vandermark Garage in Scio and Keystone Garage in Olean.  He served honorably with the US Army.  John was well known in the local auto industry including the demolition derby at the fair.  

Surviving are: a daughter, Nancy (Donald) Pritchard of Baden, PA; a son, Leo Geer of Georgia; four grandchildren, Hannah, Alexis, Dakota, and Jordin; two sisters, Hazel Cornell of Scio and Louella Culbert of NC; a brother, Randy (Belinda) Hinkle of Indiana, PA; nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents; and four brothers, Lyle James Hinkle, Michael Hinkle, Charles Hinkle, and Howard L. Hinkle, Sr; and his longtime companion, Jackie Glover. 

Friends may call at OLNEY-FOUST Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM– 1:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 1:00 PM.  Rev. Dr. Stephen Crowell will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio.  Memorials may be made to KonXions United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 21, Scio, NY 14880.
