Fifty-seven graduates earn Regents Diploma’s

Bolivar-Richburg Central School marked a significant milestone with its thirtieth commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 30. The event was held in the auditorium at the Jr./Sr. High School in Bolivar, where fifty-nine students received their diplomas, signifying the culmination of their hard work and dedication.
Board of Education President Amanda McDonnell, alongside fellow board members Aaron Duell and Erin Baldwin, presented the graduates with their diplomas. Fifty-seven members of the class received a Regents Diploma, 11 earned a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, and 30 graduated with a career and technical endorsement. Collectively, the graduating class earned $1.4 million in scholarships, a testament to their academic excellence and hard work.
During the ceremony, McDonnell presented the Board of Education Award to Caden Allen and Trey Buchholz, recognizing their outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, music, and extra-curricular clubs and organizations.
The ceremony featured speeches from Kori Thomas, valedictorian of the Class of 2024, and Zachary Mitchell, salutatorian. Both students reflected on their time at Bolivar-Richburg and looked ahead hopefully to the future. Mitchell commented, “We have all grown strong bonds with each other, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all the support, memories, and blessings we’ve all shared.” Thomas concluded her valedictory remarks with a powerful message to her fellow classmates: “To the class of 2024, please remember to take a moment to congratulate yourselves on this great accomplishment. The future is ours—ours to build, ours to change, and ours to live.”
