This morning village crews were repairing a water line near the famous Texas Hot when an unexpected main line break created a “geyser” of sorts on Main Street. Public Works Director Dean Arnold explained that the main line had about one hundred pounds of pressure behind it.

Crews hustled to the site and made quick work of a very messy situation. All water has been restored.

This statement was issued by the village this morning when the main line ruptured:

The water will be temporarily shut off in the business district block between Madison Street and Jefferson Street in order to make repairs to the water main and street. The water will only be shut off in this area and will be restored as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Bill Hart from Hart’s Jewelry took this photo:

Main street traffic will be closed between Jefferson and Madison until the work is completed.
