The historic women’s group will pause for the summer season and meet again after Labor Day
The Monday Club of Wellsville met for luncheon at the Wellsville Country Club on June 4 ending this year’s series of meetings. In addition to welcoming seven new members this year, the group has enjoyed weekly programs following the theme “Life’s A Journey”. Speakers shared personal experiences, starting with Sister Alice who presented the first program, telling how she started life in a Buffalo orphanage, and eventually became a nun. Other speaker’s topics included health, arts, folklore, military service, foods, and sports.
We were able to step into the community with a tour of Jones Memorial Hospital’s addition, the Pink House, and Hann House. The final May meeting was a review of the book “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek”. The discussion was led by Joyce Krupnik . The Monday Club has again made a generous donation to the David A. Howe Library.
The organization resumes meeting shortly after Labor Day, with officers working through the summer to plan new programs for 2024-2025.
