Congratulations to our Best of Show Art Show winners!

From Friendship Central School, painting by Kennedy Hunt

Middle School Best of Show winner 8th grader Kennedy Hunt. She showed numerous illustrations as well as canvas paintings. One lobster character painting in particular stole the show, with its narrative quality and its attention to detail. Additionally Kennedy had done these on her own time as she didn’t have art this year and entered these into the art show. A true demonstration of passion for her art making beyond the classroom walls. Mrs Welka couldn’t be any prouder for the development she continued to make this year.

Meanwhile High School Best of Show winner, Amanda Thompson, who amazingly only has art every other day, stole the attention of those entering the art show with her life sized winged sculpture. The opalescent wings are over a bent wire frame. The sculpture was a clear tape casting she took off a fellow class mate. Amanda worked tirelessly during lunches over the last couple of weeks. She stayed working in the art room right up to the night of the art show to get this winning entry completed. These winners showcased skill, and passion in creating art for their enjoyment—and well, our enjoyment too.

Additionally various art awards were given to other students commending them for their creative traits and artistic behaviors as well. Congrats to all our amazing artists.💜💛🖌️
