Rotarians plan to install timber-frame pavilion by July 1
From the Wellsville Rotary Club,
WELLSVILLE ROTARY RIVERWALK PAVILION PROJECT
APPROVED BY THE WELLSVILLE ROTARY CLUB ON MAY 1, 2024
The approved plan is to purchase and place a 12’ x 16’ premade timber frame four season low maintenance pavilion from Heritage Structures Belfast NY, together with a fixed picnic table and benches, to be adjacent to the Genesee River, Riverwalk Plaza Wellsville NY. The target date to complete the project is 7/1/24. Photos of the existing Genesee River Wilds kiosk at Riverwalk and image of pavilion to be purchased:
This will allow the public to enjoy the river view under shelter, to eat lunch or meet up, and get out of the elements. Approximate location would be adjacent to the existing GRW sign kiosk, subject to approval .
Budget: pavilion purchase price is $5,250 plus sales tax(free delivery). Total project budget is $6,000.
Riverwalk Inc. will assist with the placement of the structure.
Where will the money to complete the project come from?
1.We plan to apply for Grants from Wellsville Betterment, the Allegany Co. Area Foundation Inc., and any other sources that may be available.
2. Contributions from the general public may be sent to the Wellsville Rotary at PO Box 391 Wellsville NY 14895, or to any Rotary member.
3. Sponsorships will be sought from area organizations and in particular from businesses close by to the Riverwalk Plaza. Recognition will be given by erection of permanent signs and plaques within the structure.
