Steuben county high school students spend a day with local government

The longstanding tradition of “Youth in Government” continues

From Steuben County,

BATH – Juniors and seniors across Steuben County were introduced to their legislators Monday in the county Annex as participants in the county’s 40-year-old program intended to engage and inform the students about local services.

Since Youth In Government began in 1983, more than 1,300 high school juniors and seniors across Steuben have participated in the program which allows the interns to tour county agencies and meet with department heads.

The program concludes with a simulated legislative session during which the students present, debate and vote on resolutions. The Youth In Government 2024 Spring Interns are:
