Exciting **New Venue & New Format** for the final All-County Honors Festival this weekend at Alfred University

Two concerts this Saturday March 16 in Alfred

You will always know that spring is right around the corner when the Allegany County Schools Music Association (ACSMA) is ready to present their third and final All-County Honors Festival of the season.  This year the ACSMA All-County Honors Festival #3 is Friday, March 15 – Saturday, March 16th and is graciously being hosted at Alfred University. Wellsville Music teachers Jeff Joslyn (6-12 Band), Kelly Suzano (6-12 Choir) and Noah Luthart (5-12 String) are working closely with Dr. Lisa Lantz (Professor of Music/Strings) and Randy Wachtel (Clinical Professor of Practice in Production Management) to bring a wonderful educational experience to the students of Allegany County.

Over 200 student-musicians, representing every school in Allegany County, will gather to rehearse together beginning on Friday, March 15th and culminate in NOT one, but TWO CONCERTS on Saturday, March 16th.

The first concert will be at 11:00am on Saturday, March 16th when the ACSMA Sixth Grade All-County Honors Chorus will take the stage in the beautiful Miller Theater on the Alfred University Campusunder the direction of Mrs. Rebekah Brennan.  Mrs. Brennan has been a music educator for 18 years. She is currently in her second year as the K-12 Vocal Director at Belfast Central School. Mr. Andrew Reith will be accompanying the Sixth Grade All-County Honors Chorus.

The second Concert will begin at 2:00pm when Noah Joslyn, the co-winner of a Senior Going on in Music ACSMA Scholarship takes the stage. A senior at Wellsville High School, Noah will be performing the alto saxophone solo “Sonata No 6 in E major, BWV 1035” by J.S. Bach, accompanied by Mrs. JoAnn Brown.  Noah plans to attend SUNY Fredonia after graduation, where he has been accepted into their Music Performance degree program. Noah is the son of Annie and Jeff Joslyn.

Next on the program will be the ACSMA Junior High All-County Honors Chorus under the direction of Mrs. Megan Tackentein, accompanied by Mrs. JoAnn Brown. Mrs. Tackentein is the 6-12 Vocal Director at Cuba-Rushford Central School, where she has been a music educator for the past 18 years.

Sean Mahon, a senior at Belfast Central School, is the winner of this year’s Senior High ACSMA Scholarship.  He will be singing “Ombra Mai Fu” by Giovanni Caccini.  Sean will be accompanied by Mr. Andrew Reith. Sean is the son of Brandi and Mark Mahon.   After graduation, Sean will be attending SUNY Fredonia majoring in Music Education.

Completing this program will be the ACSMA Senior High All-County Honors Band under the direction of Mr. Edward Belin.  Mr. Belin recently retired from the Hornell City School District where he taught for 27 of his 33 years as a Music Educator and Instrumental Director.  An active member of the community, Mr. Belin is currently a Conductor and percussion member of the Hornell Area Wind Ensemble.

Students / Seniors $3.00

Adults $4.00

Family: $10.00

If you plan on attending both concerts, please keep your program from the morning concert to have access to the afternoon concert without buying another ticket.
