A busy day for the department, and the engine company between a couple alarms, and a few trainings.

This afternoon while the weather was nice allowed for more driver training for a couple of our driver candidates. Wellsville 2 (B. Stonemetz) did over 60 minutes of driving time, with reviewing light tower, and pump operations. Wellsville 2 (R. Embser) did over 45 minutes of driving time, and reviewed going over the apparatus, and basic functions.

Monday evening a company training was held to review, and go over our brush firefighting equipment carried on the engine, along with the department brush truck. The department Junior Firefighters also participated in tonight’s training. Wellsville 2 (K. Fleischman) along with Wellsville 6 were utilized for tonight’s training. Firefighters reviewed the Indian tanks (water backpacks) that are utilized during brush fires, and the three (3) different types of hoses, and nozzles used for brush fires. Firefighters, and the juniors also reloaded the new hose back on the engine, along with giving both apparatus a good washing after training. We also broke out our under carriage washer to get the under side of the engine cleaned. A huge thank you to Firefighter Gabe Dennis for getting the TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera) mounted back inside the cab of the engine. Thank you everyone who helped cover, and participate today.

At approximately 05:54 Wellsville Fire Department was dispatched for a carbon monoxide alarm activation at a location in the village. Wellsville 2 (J. Fleischman) with a crew of two responded as the first due engine company. Crews were released by command after investigating.
