STEUBEN COUNTY- Do you know which figure from world history died on March 15, 44 BC? That seemed to be an easy one for several Academic All-Stars teams, as they took part in some exciting, and many very close, matches on Monday night.
Starting with the Large School Division, Hornell continued their winning streak with a 36 – 30 victory over Bath Haverling. Corning Gold edged out Corning Black by a slim margin, 31 – 30.
Addison beat Campbell-Savona 32 – 15, while Naples topped Canisteo-Greenwood 33 – 31 in the Medium-Large School Division.
In Medium-Small Division competition, Alfred-Almond remained undefeated with a nail-biting 41 – 40 victory over Arkport. J-T managed to top Hammondsport 37 – 25.
Finally, in the Small School play, Avoca bested Bradford, 55 – 20. In another close match Canaseraga squeezed by Prattsburgh 24 – 20.
