“The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Allegany County”

The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, with the Allegany County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, recently held the 1st Annual Kevin Shay Toy Drive. Toy donations were accepted at various locations throughout the County. The community response to this event was nothing short of amazing.

With the assistance of the Shay family, over 100 deserving children and families are receiving multiple gifts and each child also receives a personalized stocking filled with gifts. The ACSO hosted a Christmas Party where Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance and local law enforcement was able to have one-on-one interaction with these children while sharing some Christmas cookies and hot cocoa.
In attendance was District Attorney-Elect Ian Jones, Legislator Steve Havey, AC Probation, AC Fraud Unit, AC Wellness team, NYSP Amity UF and BCI, Bolivar PD, the ACSO Admin Team, NYS Office of Court Administration, the Officers and Deputies of the ACSO and of course, the Shay family.

The spirit of Christmas is alive and well in Allegany County and I am proud to be a part of such a worthwhile event.
