It was a wonderful evening on Wednesday night as members, guests and local leaders gathered for the re-dedication of our newly renovated meeting room at the Main Street Fire Headquarters.

Following our monthly meeting with a record turnout of nearly 40 members, Emerald Chaplains Fr. James Hartwell and Fr. Jeffrey Donovan jointly laid a blessing upon the renovated complex and all who attended.

Wellsville Mayor Randy Shayler congratulated the Emeralds on the first major renovation of its meeting room since the Fire Complex was built in 1971.  In doing so, the Mayor declared December 6, 2023 as Emerald Hook & Ladder Day in the Village of Wellsvillle.

Members of the Village and Town Boards were there, as well as Fire Chief Rod Winans and Asst. Chief Bill Day Jr..  Also in attendance was Wellsville’s own Sister Alice Roach ( it is rumored she is submitting her application for membership – as “ I want to be a driver”).

We also enjoyed the presence of family and friends of many of the Emerald’s extended families – past and present.

Afterwards, those present enjoyed food prepared by Emerald Chef Greg Elliott.

On behalf of the members of the Emerald Hook & Ladder Co. No. 3, we would like to thank all who made this project come to fruition. Especially Jan-Dar Construction.

Happiest of Holidays to all!!
