Buffalo woman arrested for stealing Barbie toys, fleeing state police at 100 mph in Lockport

Troopers called off a high-speed chase for safety reasons

From the NYS Police,

On November 28, 2023, Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested Emoni J. Thompson, 26 of Buffalo, NY for Petit Larceny, Fleeing an Officer 3rd degree and several traffic tickets.

On November 27, 2023, at 12:19 P.M., Troopers out of SP Lockport responded to Walmart on South Transit Road in the town of Lockport for a larceny complaint. Investigation determined that Thompson passed all points of purchase without paying. Thompson took $800 worth of Barbie toys and left Walmart in a 2016 Ford Escape. Troopers located the vehicle and attempted to stop Thompson by activated emergency lights. Thompson failed to comply by traveling over 100 mph and Troopers terminated the pursuit due to public safety. Thompson was later arrested and processed at SP Lockport.

Thompson was issued an appearance ticket to the Town of Lockport Court for December 2023.
