Thanksgiving is over and Wellsville is ready to bring on the holiday season with gusto!

All day long shops and merchants will be ready to give everyone lots of choices and chances to shop locally. There are two great events worth mentioning are the Pop-Up Shop at LaGra Salon and Day Spa on East State Street, and the Holiday Extravaganza at the Wellsville Fire Department on Main Street. These two events are only a few hundred feet apart and will offer two distinctly different shopping experiences!!

The annual “Santa Parade” will stroll down Main Street at about 4:30pm. Nearly all the local merchants will be open before and after the parade.

Don’t forget Hart’s Jewelry has a great sale going on and the first 50 customer will recieve a great free gift!

After the parade the Wellsville Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce will officially light up the “Festival of Lights” on the front lawn of the David A. Howe Library. Decorated Christmas trees line the sidewalk and walkway of the library and the yearly “lighting” is always fun.

At about 6:30pm it will be time for fireworks!! If you love them, get ready for a great show over the Genesee River and the library. You can’t find a bad seat but bring your earplugs if you are sensitive to loud noises as this show is typically vibrant and loud. Pro tip: View the show from the parking areas near the US post office or American Legion.

When the show is over dive into one of the local hotspots for a drink and/or dinner. The Beef Haus, The Texas Hot, L’Italia, Wellsville Brewing Company, Pizza King, Giant Food Mart, and others will be ready for a holiday crowd.
