This Saturday catch a concert and ukulele expo at 1pm

The library will soon have ukuleles! And library patrons will be able to check them out, take them home, and learn a new instrument at no cost! To celebrate this new addition to the library of things, the library is hosting a concert and demonstration by The Ukuladies, a ukulele duo from Alfred, on Saturday, November 25, at 1 p.m. in the Howe Gallery.

The fabulous “Ukuladies”

All ages are welcome, no previous ukulele experience is required, and the event is free. The library plans to have six ukuleles available for circulation starting the day of the concert. Attendees can just enjoy the concert or be one of the first to check out the new instruments.

Plans are also in the works to offer some basic ukulele classes in 2024.

The library thanks Rick Whitwood, at Music Alley, for helping source ukuleles, cases, straps, and tuners. This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Arts Council for Wyoming County.
