Assistant District Attorney Ian M. Jones prosecuting a violent robbery in Bolivar and probation violation in Belmont

Defendant’s Name:  Stephen A. Frezza

Address:  Bolivar, New York       

Charges:      Robbery, 1st Degree (B violent felony);
Menacing (A misdemeanor);
Criminal Mischief (A misdemeanor);
Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd (D felony)            

Court Appearance Date:  November 1, 2023

Proceedings:  Stephen Frezza was in Allegany County Court for a Wade hearing. The result of this hearing will determine if a courtroom identification of the defendant must be excluded from evidence at trial.  The Courts decision is expected by December 1, 2023.  It is anticipated that a trial will be scheduled at the next court appearance.

Defendant’s Name:  Coty Denning

Address:  Belmont, New York       

Charges:  Violation of Probation

Court Appearance Date:  November 1, 2023

Proceedings:  Coty Denning was sentenced in Allegany County Court for a violation of his probation.  Denning was previously convicted for a criminal possession of a weapon charge.  For this violation, Denning has been sentenced to 2 – 6 years in state prison.
