Fundraiser set for September 16 at the town park

From the town of Belfast, NY – 

The town of Belfast, NY is thrilled to announce its upcoming bicentennial celebration in 2024. With two centuries of rich history, the town is gearing up for an unforgettable series of events that will bring residents and visitors together to commemorate this monumental milestone. A committee of volunteers has been hard at work organizing a lineup of festivities. 

Here are two events to mark on your calendar, with more announcements to come throughout the fall and next year! 

1. Fundraiser Kickoff – Cornhole Tournament: September 16th, 2023

Get ready to join in on the excitement early with the first fundraising event for the Belfast Bicentennial. On September 16th, 2023, at 2:00 PM, a cornhole tournament will be held in the Belfast Town Park. In case of rain, the event will take place in the Town Hall. Food and drinks, including a full cash bar, will be available. The registration fee is $40.00 per team. 2. Bicentennial Festival: August 9th – 11th, 2024

Mark your calendars for the main festivities taking place from August 9th to 11th, 2024. The weekend will feature an array of activities designed to appeal to all ages. Live music performances and a dance party will set the stage. There will be a parade, fireworks, food and music, amusement park rides, and more.

As Belfast looks forward to celebrating 200 years, the bicentennial committee extends a warm invitation to all residents, neighboring communities, and visitors to join in the celebration. The event promises not only to honor the town’s past but also to set the stage for a bright future.
