PORTVILLE – Shirley Ann Crawford, a longtime Portville resident, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 8, 2023) at her daughter Diane’s home.
Born April 9, 1935, in Portville, she was the daughter of John and Alice Rix Garrey. On April 28, 1956, she married the love of her life, Arthur A. Crawford, who predeceased her June 8, 2016.
Shirley was a graduate of Portville Central School, Class of 1953. She worked for the former A.V.X in Olean until her retirement.
She is survived by one son, Dennis Crawford of Hugo, Minn.; two daughters, Diane (Scott) Duffney of Bolivar and Debra (Andy) Jones of Clarendon, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Hitchcock of Allegany; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is predeceased by two sons, Douglas Crawford Jr. and Duane Crawford.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Friday (Aug. 11, 2023) at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main St. Funeral services will follow at noon. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
