From the NY State Police:
On July 18, 2023, Troopers out of SP Amity responded to a two vehicle collision on State Route 21 in the town of Alfred. Investigation determined that a 2013 Chevrolet was traveling north bound and a 2017 Chevrolet was traveling south bound on State Route 21. Both vehicles collided head on. Operator of of the 2017 Chevrolet, Adam J. Vanskiver, 29 of Wellsville, NY treated on scene and transported via LifeNet to Strong memorial hospital with leg injuries. The operator of the 2013 Chevrolet, Mary N. Dagostino, 62 of Caledonia, NY was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Allegany County Coroner.
The NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to this incident.
