Judith Lagoda, formerly of Wellsville

 Judith Lagoda, of Bridgton, ME (formerly of Wellsville, NY) went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2023.  She was surrounded by her family and died peacefully after a long battle with cancer,

        Judith was born on July 19, 1942 in the village of Wellingborough, England to Harold and Marion Shaw.  She met her future husband, Anthony Lagoda, in England where he was in the service, and she followed him back to the US where they were married in Buffalo, NY on September 15, 1964.  Judith eventually became a US citizen, and was very proud of this accomplishment.  Both Judith and Tony were members of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville, NY and were heavily involved with the other parishes in the area. They also volunteered at the Catholic Charities Food Pantry and the Allegany County SPCA.  

        Surviving is a son, Mark (Rebecca) Lagoda, a granddaughter,  Ruby Lagoda and grandson, Blue Lagoda, all of Bridgton, ME. Surviving siblings include a brother, Vincent Shaw of Buffalo, NY, a sister Kathleen Butler and her daughter, Nancy Callow, of England,  Also several nieces and nephews, and special friends Kandy Hirsch, Nancy Levitt and MaryAnn Whitehouse.. Preceded in death was Judith’s husband Tony in July 2022.
