A titan in the highway construction safety and sign business has evolved with new technology and the next generation of a landmark family business

By Andrew Harris

If you are from the Wellsville/Andover area, then you understand this is a big deal to announce this new partnership. If you aren’t from the area and aren’t familiar with “CTC” then it is worth explaining why we are so happy they have decided to become part of our work.

First and foremost, this is a very successful company. Founded in 1984, the company has grown and persevered into a regional leader in the industry. CTC has employed and supported the local Andover NY community over the four decades with that success. Second, and maybe foremost, is this business was built and grown by strong women. CEO Christine Joyce started the company when Ronald Reagan was President and the construction industry was a man’s world.

As a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise, CTC has always been a leader in both their industry and in workplace equality since the company was established.  Christine has been honored with several industry awards and magazine features about her personal and business accomplishments.

We will talk about the history of “CTC,” more on this site because the stories are amazing(like the time the entire place burned down and the community kept the business running,) and inspiring for future entreprenuers.

Mike, Jimmy, and Maria

The story that really needs telling is the future of this now, third generation family business. Christine’s family has been involved in the business for years but today the company have some all-star executives on staff. Christine’s children, Maria McCormick and Mike McCormick are both officers in the company and have taken lead roles in daily operations. Another company officer is Jimmy Joyce who has worked for the company for nearly thirty years! Jimmy started as a summer helper at age 14 and is now a top executive. “The company “CTC” is thrilled to have his son Vinny joining the crew this summer!

“Certified,” is doing big road sign jobs like the recent US/Canadian Peace Bridge, and keeping road construction sites safe. Major highway sign and safety work is the “bread and butter” of operation, but much more is brewing on Route 417 just east of Andover NY.

A recent tour of the shop on Route 417 revealed a high-tech operation, with a youthful and highly skilled team. The capabilities of this team are quite impressive. In the world of signs, graphics, decals, banners; The possibilities are endless and that isn’t an exaggeration. Do you need ten, six-inch custom vehicle decals or ten fully “wrapped” company vehicles ? Yard signs to advertise a new business or a twenty foot “WELCOME HOME JOHNNY” banner ? Custom parking lot signs or customized storefront windows?

CTC Signs is a ‘can do’ operation with such a range of options they joke, “We can even print custom designs on your window curtains!” Which they really can!! CTC has invested in the technology to print or engrave just about every surface or material you can imagine.

Here are some of the recent jobs completed and the crew. They are ready to turn your idea into reality so call or email The possiblities are endless!
