The Wellsville Central School budget passed after 440 voters hit the polls on Tuesday.

In the race for school board, newcomer Kate McKinley Murphy earned the most votes with 264.

There were three people running for two seats. Current school board president Alan Mosher was second with 247 to narrowly retain his seat. Mosher’s son-in-law, Kris Green, an incumbent, finished with 245.

There were 375 votes by machine and 65 absentee ballots mailed in. Unlike county races in New York, the schools count them the night of the vote.

We will have more numbers on the election Wednesday.
