The Bolivar Lions Club has announced the activities for Pioneer Oil Days, June 18 – 25, 2023

Pioneer Oil Days began in June of 2000 and the oversight of operations were taken under the control of the Lions Club in 2015.  The week kicks off on Sunday the June 18th with The Genesee Valley Antique Tractor Club’s annual tractor pull held at the Hahn and Schaffner site of the Pioneer Oil Museum.  The event is free and starts at 9:00am.  Bring your own chair.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday include a euchre tournament, community picnic and a scavenger hunt.  The picnic and scavenger hunt are free and there is an entry fee for the euchre tournament. Thursday brings our “Movie under the Stars” underwritten by the Lions Club and Bolivar Free Library.  The movie will be for children and the title will be announced in June.  It is free, just bring your own folding chair and is held in the Community Bank parking lot.

Friday brings the annual “Wall of Fame” inductions by the Pioneer Oil Museum.  The Pioneer Oil Museum and Pioneer Oil Days are distinct and separate organizations but work together to remember and celebrate our oil heritage.  The museum has made enormous renovation strides to repair structures and create working displays of the engines any many other oil memorabilia that once collectively powered the oil industry in Bolivar and the surrounding areas.

The induction ceremony is immediately followed by a wine and cheese tasting event.  Everyone loves a parade and car show and Saturday delivers exactly that!  The parade begins at 10:00 am and is immediately followed by a car show cruise from BRCS School to Main Street in Bolivar.  The car show continues until mid-afternoon. A complete schedule of events with details is available on our website.  https://pioneeroildays.com.  There are street vendors from Thursday to Saturday plus many local organizations set up fund raisers and information booths. Vendor applications are available on the website or by emailing PODVendors@hotmail.com.  Come and join us, we hope to see you there!
