Newton “Newt” Phillips of Farmington Hills, died on May 2, 2023, at the age of 92.
Newt was born on January 29, 1931, in Wellsville, NY to Newton Sr and Gloria (Seaver) Phillips. Newt married Marilou (Vargo) and they raised their family of five children in Wellsville. The Phillips family moved to Farmington Hills, MI in 1975.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Marilou and his sister Barbara (Williams). He is survived by his children; Jenny (Tim) Moran, Sue (Chris) Sutton, Steve (Mary Ann) Phillips, Rosanne (Mike) Thomas and Joe Phillips; his grandchildren, Kimberly (Trippe) Davis, Meghan (Bryan) Niedt, Matthew (Grace) Sutton, Stephen (Eileen) Phillips, Andrew (Ellen Darnall) Phillips, Michael (Kim) Thomas, John Thomas, Spencer Phillips and Evan Phillips; and great-grandchildren Margot, George, Silas and Jaxson.
Family and friends are welcome to bring their family and celebrate Newt’s Life at a Memorial Picnic, June 24 at Huron Meadows Metropark, Brighton, MI, Acorn Ridge Shelter 1-5 PM.
