Robert C. Jones, 84, formerly of Scio NY

Robert C. JONES, 84, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Scio, NY, died Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the Lexington VA Medical Center.  Born March 19, 1939, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of H. Glenn and Helen H. Hull Jones. 

A Scio Central School graduate, he continued his education at Alfred State College.  Bob served honorably with the U.S. Navy from 1957 – 1960.  He was employed by Dresser-Rand in Wellsville, Wellsville and Scio Police Departments, Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, and Wellsville Central School.  In retirement, he returned to Dresser Rand to work as a security guard.  Bob was a member of the American Legion, American Legion Riders, and AMVETS.  He attended Restoration Church of Christ in Scio. 

Surviving are:  a daughter, Tori L. Scotchmer of Scio;  a bonus son, Eric (Dana) Perry of Scio;  a daughter-in-law, Margaret Jones of Morehead, KY;  his friend and children’s mother, Rosanne Green Perry of Wellsville;  a brother-in-law, Nick Monaghan of Arkport;  a nephew, Andrew (Kati-Jo) Seaman;  six grandchildren, Kristi, Jamie, Bryent, Ashlynn, Alicia, and Rachel;  two great-granddaughters, Jesselyn and Braileigh;  many close cousins and friends that were like family.  He was predeceased by a son, Timothy Nathan Jones, on March 17, 2022;  and a sister, Jayne J. Monaghan. 

Services will be announced.  Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio.
