The new store at the Riverwalk Plaza opens at 8am

Thursday March 16 will be an exciting day for Wellsville NY. The former Kmart store, the largest space in the Riverwalk Plaza on the Bolivar Road, will be back in business under the Runnings banner. Business is expected to be booming.
Runnings will open the doors for the first full day of operations after a “soft opening” day where friends and family were invited to get a preview of the store. Below is a picture of the staff in front of the new location, Store 58 in the Runnings chain:
Customers will be curious to see what inventory the store has stocked as not all Runnings stores carry the same products. Like many large-space retailers, Runnings customizes some of each store offerings to meet the local demand and demographics. One thing that many will be looking for is guns.
Wellsville hasn’t had a firearm and ammunition retailer since Kmart closed the doors, and they had dramatically scaled back the “outdoors” section of the store. The gun lovers will be anxious to see what the case has to offer and what ammunition selection is available. The anti-gun contingent will be looking to see if this store carries the now infamous “AR-15,” semi-automatic rifle.
As a shopper of local “farm and country,” or “feed stores,” I’ll be curious how the new store compares to the Tractor Supply across the street.
