Wellsville resident John Valentine wins $100 for the next project

By Andrew Harris

Wellsville has a long-standing, independently owned hardware store and lumber yard. This is a big deal.

Lowes, Home Depot, and other big box stores have swallowed up almost every “mom and pop” hardware store or lumber yard in the nation. Not Fassett Lane. They have survived, in part, because of the hard work of owners Dan Peters and Butch Calcote, both have been with the business for decades. The other part of the success has been the customer, Fassett Lane has a very loyal customer base.

Dan and Butch know that loyalty better than anyone and decided that 2023 was the year to reward the customers. Every month of this year, Fassett will hand over $100 in a random drawing of those loyal customers who stop in the store. No purchase is necessary, just fill out the quick form and enter to win.

John Valentine was the first big winner and has been a long-time customer. We asked John about his win and shopping at Fassett Lane:

Sun: Why do you shop at Fassett Lane Lumber ?

Valentine: I have known Dan and Butch for a long time. They are both great guys. Fassett also has a friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Sun: Were you surprised to win ?

Valentine: I was!!! I think we can all use an extra $100 right now.

Sun: Any idea what you will spend the money on ? Any upcoming DIY projects in the Valentine house?

Valentine: Well being a homeowner means dealing with house problems constantly. I’m sure my house already has plans for that money!

Fassett Lane will be show how much they value their customers all year. Every month in 2023, Dan and Butch will pull a winner from the box and get a lucky customer $100 ahead of the game. Stop in the store to enter, no purchase necessary. Stay tuned for the next months winner!
