Wellsville Police arrest serial burglar, shoplifters, tackle serious weapons charges

Two of four Wellsville shoplifters arrested

All those accused are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

Friday February 3, 2023,

Wellsville Police arrested a female, age 28 of Belmont, and a female, age 67 of Belmont, charging them each with Petit Larceny. The charges stem from an incident that took place at the Dollar General on West Dyke Street on January 13th. They were processed, issued appearance tickets and released. They are both due in Wellsville Village Court on March 7th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 32 of Allentown, charging him with Harassment 2nd. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Maple Avenue. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. The accused is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on February 14th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville man arrested twice in one day, once for felony weapons charge

Wellsville Police arrested Patrick W. Gallagher Jr, age 31 of Wellsville, charging him with Manufacture, transport, disposition and defacement of weapons and dangerous instruments and appliances (Class D Felony). The charge stems from an incident that took place on Scott Avenue on November 13th. Gallagher was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Gallagher was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on April 4th at 4:30 pm.

Currently incarcerated serial thief arrested for two additional crimes

Wellsville Police arrested Jeremiah D. Edwards, age 31 currently incarcerated in the Allegany County Jail, charging him with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd (Class D Felony). The charge stems from an incident that took place on Pine Street in September of 2022. Edwards was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Edwards was returned to the Allegany County Jail and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on March 7th at 4:30 pm.

The charge stems from an incident that took place at 7 Eleven in August of 2022. Edwards was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Edwards was returned to the Allegany County Jail and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on March 7th at 4:30 pm.
